This is to study how thermal mass is beneficial to be used in the walls in reducing the cooling load in the hot and humid climate of Yangon. A simple building model is built in an Environmental software and simulated by using different types of walls, light walls, mass walls and insulated walls in order to evaluate in their thermal performances. The effects of the different walls on the internal temperature variation in the critical days are comparatively analyzed in order to draw recommendations on the appropriate materials which best suit for the climate.
